Ellie - Our Digital Host
The Host of our Exciting Podcasts
What an Image Says About AI
Ellie's image was created by giving AI a five-word description, "Ellie AI sitting coffee shop." Let me explain, the story tells us something about the progress of AI. Ellie is one of the main characters in the upcoming book "The Three Laws of AI: A World Exposed" and has her own LLM. The full story of the image and Ellie will make you think. The full article is on X under my site @stanton_jeffers and is published as an X Article.
After a decade of AI research, we've brought Ellie to life. She's not just a character but an AI creation with a unique perspective. As the digital host of our shows and podcasts, Ellie showcases some of the cutting-edge technology AI has to offer. That is the point of Ellie.
As we witness the evolution of artificial intelligence, we are on the brink of a future where AI is self-aware and vastly more intelligent than humans. Instead of debating when, let's ponder a more intriguing question, 'On the Earth, name a species less intelligent that controls or dominates a species of greater intelligence?' We explore that question in the book and Podcasts.
Each character has a conflict, a driving force that moves the plot forward with a want or a need. AI will be no different.
Today's AI was science fiction ten years ago.
Will AI be any different than man when it becomes self-aware? "You build in AI self-preservation so that when things break, it keeps working."
Geoffrey Hinton argues, "It's not clear that this won't lead to self-interest kicking in. When you get self-interested AI, you'll get evolution. With evolution, you get competition. And the most intelligent will always leave the less intelligent in the dust.” That means AI won't need us anymore."
